This post explains how to use your gmail acocunt as a forwarding agent, to make easy to remember addresses that would be easier to remember than the random strings of characters that a flickr email would include.

Gmail Filters are super usefull.   I use them for nearly every email that comes into my mailbox, including my voicemail, family, work, newsletters, etc.  Makes my mail more manageable and helps prioritize things.  Tired of seeing LinkedIn and Facebook emails, but don’t want to delete them?  Filter them and check them when you are really bored.    Want to make sure that you see improtant emails, filter them too, and add a label and a star.

Here is a good article on using filters:

There is also a little known feature in Gmail, that I love.   You can add nearly any keyword to your email address with a plus sign.   Such as:
yourname@gmail.com  can be sent as yourname+anything@gmail.com

where anything is a keyword.  The it’s easy to set a filter, where anything that comes to that email get’s filtered.  Whenever I buy something online, I use myemail+receipt@gmail.com.   The emails that follow get filtered to a Receipt tag, skip my Inbox.  Nearly everything get’s filtered.

Give it a try.
